One of the hardest things to do is love people. The Bible tells us many times that we are to love. I believe it is one of the things that we, as Christians, have struggled with the most. I don’t fault anyone for this struggle. I have often failed to love people. This has been especially true with people who I believe make the world a worse place.

There are times when I catch myself justifying my hatred. He’s a terrible politician. She’s too immature. You must be hopelessly evil to be so cruel. You are obviously a terrible driver for passing without a turn signal. When my mind goes to these places, I’ve learned to recognize that I am coming up with reasons to justify my problem. And the problem is that I do not love enough.

Pray for the strength and endurance to go the extra mile with difficult people. We are surrounded by people who are hard to love. Some of those people may not be shown enough love. Regardless of whether they deserve love or not, we must love them regardless. This is one of the biggest challenges we face in the Christian life.
